As one of the newest faculty members in the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations, David Norman brings over two decades of industry experience to the college and is a nationally recognized expert in crisis management.
Norman, a native of New York, started his collegiate journey at Hamilton College before attending George Washington University to earn his master's in public administration. After graduating Norman co-founded his own public relations agency, Kitchen Public Relations, specializing in strategic crisis communications.
After over 20 years of industry experience, Norman turned his attention to the next generation of public relations professionals, starting his teaching career at Hofstra University, before migrating down south to the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Norman now brings his knowledge and experience to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, joining the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations.
Norman has been an avid member of PRSA for the past 25 years and just transferred his membership to the PRSA Volunteer Chapter.
Norman’s advice to his students both in PRSSA and young professionals in PRSA is to make use of all the resources that come along with membership. He also encourages people to go to all educational events offered in your chapter, “Fellow peers who have expertise in a certain area of the industry are always going to teach you something new”.
Here at PRSA Volunteer Chapter we welcome David to the chapter and wish him the best of luck in his inaugural year at the Tombras School of Advertising and Public Relations at University of Tennessee, Knoxville!
